EDMONTON, AB  – The Northern Provincial Pipelines logo was seen on three race cars at two different tracks Friday and Saturday, July 10th and 11th.  Rad Torque Raceway in Edmonton, Alberta was holding its annual Rocky Mountain Nationals drag race event.  The Northwest Sprint Tour was racing at Black Creek, British Columbia’s Saratoga Speedway.

It’s been one month since Team NPP’s Brandon Carlson drove to victory lane in the Northern Provincial Pipelines/Silver Tiger Metals #81 Dodge at the Kennedy Classic 150. A few weeks after his big victory, Carlson was asked if he’d like to get behind the wheel of a pavement sprint car again. Carlson has been an occasional driver for the Rendle Baker Motorsports pavement Sprint Car team since 2021. A total of 15-winged pavement sprint cars were in the pits for the 2-night show at Saratoga Speedway. Heading into the race weekend Carlson noticed the car he would be driving had a blank nose wing. He quickly found an extra Northern Provincial Pipelines decal. Team NPP owner Dwight Kennedy, who was at home in Edson, Alberta, found out about the decal placement and ordered a set of tires for the #14 Tri-X Group/The Keg sprint car as a thank-you. Night 1 saw Carlson winning the trophy dash. He would finish 9th in the Friday night Feature. In the Saturday night Feature, Carlson fought hard and finished second. He posted the fasted speed of the night in the Feature at over 101mph. Carlson climbs back behind the wheel of his Super Late Model on the August long weekend. Carlson and teammate Darrell Midgley head to South South Speedway in Rochester, Washington on August 1st and the Northwest Super Late Model Series 200.

Two Nostalgia Nitro Funny Cars, carrying sponsorship from Northern Provincial Pipelines, were part of the drag race action Friday and Saturday night in Edmonton, Alberta. Nathan Sitko. piloting the Bubble Up car, qualified #1. Tim Boychuk was behind the wheel of the Happy Hour funny car. Both drivers would face each other in round 1 with Sitko picking up the win. The 2025 US Nationals Champion would prevail in the final grabbing a big win on his home track over American Steve Peck. Earlier, Peck defeated the defending season champion Shane Westerfield. Both Sitko and Boychuk continue their run for the NHRA Heritage Funny Car Series Championship at the Boise Nightfire Nationals in Idaho August 7-9.
