TUCSON TIME AGAIN

TUCSON, AZ – Team NPP wraps up its winter race schedule this weekend in the Arizona desert.  Darrell Midgley runs the Northern Provincial Pipelines #81 Dodge Saturday night at Tucson Speedway’s 2022 Season opener.  This will be the 4th time that Midgley has participated in a season opening race at Tucson Speedway.  The Sidney, British Columbia driver will be running a back-up car this Saturday night. The primary #81 Dodge was damaged in a two-car incident at the 2022 Chilly Willy event back in January. The car is still at a local race shop.

TEAM NPP BACK-UP CAR IS DUSTED OFF AND READY TO GO

“We hoped the car would be ready but you can’t get parts for anything right now,” exclaims Midgley, “it’s just brutal.  The fabricating on the car is done.  We are now waiting for body panels.”  The Team NPP back-up car was last run in 2018.  “It’s been sitting for a long time.  I think we can get this car close to where the other car was.”  Midgley has an average Feature finish of 5.8 at past Tucson Speedway season opening races.  “The competition level is a bit different with fewer traveling teams here but the race is going to be tough enough.”  A total of 5-classes of cars will be in the pits Saturday night.  The Super Late Models wrap up the race night with a 75-Lap Feature.
