SKAGIT TURNAROUND
ALGER, WA – Another strong Saturday night performance for Team NPP’s Lane Zerbin at Skagit Speedway. The Victoria, British Columbia driver kicked off his race night with a Heat race victory at the Alger, Washington track. “The Heat went well,” exclaims Zerbin, “obviously starting on the front row made a big difference. We got a heat race win under our belts we just need the one that counts now.” In the 25-lap Feature Zerbin ran as high as 2nd and briefly battled for the lead but a spin by another driver forced officials to throw a caution. “Unfortunately the caution flew,” sighs Zerbin, “it would have been a different story I think if the caution flew about a half-lap later.” Zerbin would lose several spots on the re-start. “I was in the outside groove and got shuffled back a few spots. My car was just a little too tight.”

Zerbin drove the Northern Provincial Pipelines/Alien Race Cars #81 Modified to a 6th place finish. This was Zerbin’s first top-10 finish at Skagit Speedway since July 22, 2023 where he finished 8th. “I’ve got some set-up notes for next week’s race. Hopefully we can make the right adjustments.” This will be the first time in Zerbins racing history he will be running three consecutive weekends at Skagit Speedway. He’s already predicted the track conditions for the May 9th race. “I think the track is going to be dry and even start to rubber up as the 410 Sprints are racing with us.” In only 11-starts at Skagit Speedway (since 2015) Zerbin has 8 top-10 finishes including two podium finishes (2nd & 3rd in 2019 season).
