RATTLER WEEKEND IN BC

PENTICTON, BC  – Darrell Midgley and Team NPP is back on the track this Friday and Saturday night in Southern British Columbia.  Penticton Speedway kicks off its 2022 race schedule with the inaugural Western Rattler 300 featuring Super Late Models.  “The last time we raced a Super Late Model in Penticton we won,” exclaims Midgley, “it’s probably more that 15-years ago since we did that though.”  In his most recent appearance at Penticton Speedway, Midgley qualified #1 and registered back-to-back 6th place finishes at the 2020 Thanksgiving Invitational race in the Team NPP #81 Late Model.  In late 2020 Penticton Speedway underwent an ownership change.  The new ownership group completely refurbished the facility.  “They’ve done huge improvements,” says the Victoria, BC driver, “they’ve widened the corners and the straights.  Definitely looking forward to putting down some laps on the new track.”

MIDGLEY FINISHED 2ND AT THE 2022 TUCSON SPEEDWAY SEASON OPENER

Midgley will be racing the same car he drove to a second place finish at Tucson Speedway back on March 12th.  “Car is ready to go.”  The Western Rattler 300 has a price purse totaling $55,000.  “They are putting up some pretty good money.  I don’t know of any races in Western Canada that are paying this kind of money right now.”  Saturday night’s Feature winner receives $10,000.  Part-time Team NPP driver Brandon Carlson is also making the trip to Penticton Speedway this weekend.  Carlson will be driving his own race car (#14 Chevrolet) instead of the #81c Dodge.
