PODIUM ASPIRATIONS

VICTORIA, BC – Team NPP’s Jason Frost sits third in the 2021 Keg Late Model Series points chase. Just two Features remain at Westshore Motorsports Park before a champion is crowned. Both Features will be run on Saturday night (August 14th).  Frost remains optimistic about catching the two drivers ahead of him in the standings.  “I suppose mathematically I’m still in it,” says the Victoria, BC driver, “Rory (Smith) is very strong this year.”  Smith has a 34 points lead on Frost in the standings.  “He’s got good long-run speeds.  Once we get into a race he just gets stronger and stronger.”  Brandon Carlson sits second in the points chase just 15 points ahead of Frost.  “Of course Brandon is as strong as he was last year. The two guys in front of me are pretty stout. We have the speed to compete with them however we need a little bit of luck.”

JASON FROST CURRENTLY SITS THIRD IN LATE MODEL POINT STANDINGS

Although Frost is keeping his focus on the two drivers ahead of him in the standings, there are several drivers behind him in points hoping for an opportunity to move up. Kyle Cottam is just 9 points back.  Spencer Carlson and Dave Smith are 28 points back. Frost kicked off the 2021 season re-setting a near decade-old Westshore Motorsports Park Late Model track record in the Northern Provincial Pipelines Ltd. #81 Dodge.  In four Feature events this season, Frost has an average finish of 3.5.  Frost hits the track for two Saturday afternoon practice sessions at 3:30 and 4:30.  Late Model qualifying is at 5:30 with racing starting at 6:30pm.
