LEPAGE FILLS IN FOR KENNINGTON IN NORTH CAROLINA

CHARLOTTE, NC (May 24) – One of the few drivers in NASCAR that calls the New England states home will be driving one of the few BUSCH Series cars fielded with Canadian sponsorship. Veteran NASCAR competitor Kevin Lepage (Shelburn, Vermont) will be the relief driver for DJ Kennington (London, Ontario) this weekend at Lowes Motor Speedway in North Carolina. Lepage will be driving the Northern Provincial Pipelines/Vector Securities sponsored #72 Dodge. “Kevin gave me a call a few weeks back when he heard we were needing a driver,” says car owner Dwight Kennedy, “its a pretty hands free deal for me. He has his own crew to work on the car. They have a lot of experience at the track in Charlotte. In practice Thursday he was already running in the top half of the field. It will be interesting to see how he does during qualifying on Saturday.” Lepage has raced in all of NASCAR’s classes including the Truck and Busch Series. One of the many highlights of Lepage’s career came in 2005 when he placed 9th at the Daytona 500.
