FROSTY NIGHT AT THE TRACK

VICTORIA, BC – Jason Frost had mixed feelings looking back at the results of Friday night’s Keg Late Model Series race at Westshore Motorsports Park.  The highlight of the night came early as the Victoria, British Columbia driver qualified number one in the Northern Provincial Pipelines/Saanich Predators Hockey Club #81 Dodge.  “We qualified P1,” exclaims Frost, “that was great but it kinda went downhill from there.  It was a tough night.”

Two 50-lap Features were run on Friday night.  In the first Feature, Frost let a potential podium finish slip through his fingers.  “I made a mistake on a re-start and lost a few spots.  I was running down the guys in front of me but ran out of laps (finished 5th).”  Early in the second 50-lap Feature, Frost ran as high as second.  “The outside groove was just not there (for us).”  Frost slipped a few spots and looked like he was heading for his second 5th place finish of the night.  “Then we got wrecked.  Got turned into the wall with 18-laps to go and bent the car up pretty good.”  Frost was credited with a 15th place finish.

DAMAGE WILL BE REPAIRED

Despite crashing out of the second Friday night Feature, Frost remains second in the Keg Late Model Series Championship point standings.  The champion will be crowned on Saturday, September 17th.  “I don’t know if I can catch Rory (Smith) but will try.  He’s pretty good right now.”  With The Keg Series Season Championship race six-weeks away, Frost and team will now focus on repairs to their race car and get it ready for the Canada 200.  “We’re going to sort the car out.  Darrell (Midgley) has a front clip at the race shop.  We’ll bang it on in the next couple weeks then burn the midnight oil for the next race.”  The Canada 200 runs September 3rd and 4th at Westshore Motorsports Park.
TEAM NPP would like to congratulate Victoria, BC’s Spencer Carlson for winning both 50-lap Features on Friday night.
