FROST KICKS OFF 2021 SEASON

VICTORIA, BC (June 19) – The 2021 Late Model season got underway at Westshore Motorports Park on Saturday night.  For the first time in nine months, Jason Frost climbed behind the wheel of the Northern Provincial Pipelines Ltd./The Keg #81 Dodge.  Due to current Covid-19 restrictions in British Columbia, only a handful of race fans (family/spotters) were allowed in the grandstands.  Those race fans saw an incredible night of racing and some track history.  Jason Frost ran 16.436 in qualifying to reset the Westshore’s Late Model track record.  The old record of 16.63 seconds was set back on September 3, 2011 by veteran driver Wade Bland.  With his track history making qualifying run in the books, Frost hoped that this speed would carry into the Saturday night ‘twin’ Features.  The Team NPP driver was close.  Frost wrapped up the night with back-to-back podium finishes.  Frost finished third in both Saturday night Feature races at Westshore.

BACK TO BACK PODIUM FINISHES IN THE TWIN FEATURES SATURDAY NIGHT

These podium finishes were the first for Frost at his home track since June 16th, 2018 (3rd place finish).  Frost currently sits third in the 2021 Westshore Late Model Championship point standings.  Next race for Frost and the Team NPP #81 Late Model is Saturday, July 10th at Westshore Motorsports Park.
