DOUBLE TIME FOR DJ

PHOENIX, AZ – Two weekends ago Canada’s DJ Kennington did double duty at Martinsville Speedway in Virginia.  The St. Thomas, Ontario driver competed in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and the NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series.  Kennington will look to better his 25th and 27th place finishes as he’s booked for another double duty race weekend in Phoenix, Arizona.  “To be able to race two races is always fun.  It’s just awesome to have the supporters and sponsors behind us when we run.”  Kennington will pilot the Sobriety Nation/Northern Provincial Pipelines Ltd. #49 Silverado and the Northern Provincial Pipelines Ltd./APC Auto Parts # 7 Camaro at ISM Raceway.  “It’s been a lot of years with Dwight (Kennedy) and NPP.  That means a lot to me.  He’s the one that really got the ball started for me south of the border.”  This will be Kenningtons 21st and 22nd appearance behind the wheel at the Arizona facility since 2006**.

The November 9 – 11 race weekend will be the first time that all NASCAR teams get to experience ISM Raceway’s 180 million dollar facelift.  “I know the entrance to pit road is a little different,” says Kennington, “the track really hasn’t changed at all except where the start/finish line is.  I’m positive after I run five or six laps in practice it will be old hat.”  The Lucas Oil 150 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race is run on Friday night November 9th.  The Can-Am 500 NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series race will be competed on Sunday afternoon, November 11th.  In the world of motorsports, Kennington has been on a euphoric run the past few months.  On September 29th the two-time Pintys NASCAR Canada Series Champion wrapped up the 2018 season with a victory in his home province of Ontario.  Kennington finished third in season points.  Less than a month later (October 20th) Kennington traded his racing suit for a three-piece suit as he was inducted into Canada’s Motorsports Hall of Fame.  “I’m just the lucky guy that gets to hold the steering wheel and do the fun part.  To be inducted in the hall of fame is an honor.  The best part is the racing career is still rolling.”  Kennington and team roll into ISM Raceway in just a few days.

**does not include the single race date where Kennington failed to qualify: November 11, 2006 NASCAR Busch Series (now Xfinity Series).
