DJ WRAPS UP SEASON

HOMESTEAD, FL – For the second consecutive weekend Canada’s DJ Kennington was racing south of the border in one of NASCAR’s top racing divisions. On Friday night, Kennington finished 26th in the Sobriety Nation #49 Chevy Silverado at Homestead-Miami Speedway.  “We had a bad vibration (during the race) and had to pit under green,” sighs Kennington who was running 24th at the time, “a change of tires and the vibration went away.”  A lack of cautions in the Ford Eco Boost 200 prevented Kennington from regaining any lost ground.  Only two yellow flags flew the entire race.

Although he was hoping for a better result, Kennington took some positives away from his final race of the season.  “We didn’t make any mistakes,” says the St. Thomas, Ontario driver, “there was a lot at stake in this race (for other teams).  You want to perform well but you also don’t want to be that guy taking out a front runner going for the championship.”  Brett Moffitt was the race winner and won the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series 2018 season championship.  “Nice to see a smaller team win it”, exclaims Kennington, “good for Brett and his team.”  Kennington had the opportunity to run in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and the NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series a total of 14 times this year.  “Everyone chips in.  You’re running a NASCAR race. It’s not cheap, especially for the smaller teams.”  Northern Provincial Pipelines Ltd. (Edson, Alberta) and Clark Construction (Altario, Alberta) were proud sponsors of DJ Kennington at several NASCAR events in 2018.  “I could not even think about doing this without the help of Dwight (Kennedy) and Kevin (Clark).”  Lordo Auto Parts, Castrol, Gordon Brothers, APC Auto Parts, and Wilride Transport Ltd. were other sponsors that were part of Kenningtons racing journey in 2018.
