CALIFORNIA CALLING KENNINGTON

FONTANA, CA – Race number two of the NASCAR Nationwide Series schedule is this Saturday at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana California. Canada’s DJ Kennington is coming off his best ever finish in NASCAR competition last weekend. The St. Thomas Ontario driver is hoping to follow up his 17th place finish at Daytona International Speedway with a strong performance in the Red Bank Outfitters/Northern Provincial Pipelines #81 Dodge. “If we can stay out of trouble and have a car that handles well, we can grab a top-15 finish this weekend.” Last year, Kennington qualified 31st and finished 26th at the February race in California. “Pretty well every track we ran at last year we’ve never raced before. This season we can’t use that as an excuse. We really need to back up what we did last weekend with another strong race.” Kennington knows there is some pressure heading into the California race. “I think we have to have a car that handles well. We also have to have a car that is fast. Then we can’t make any mistakes out on the race track or in the pits.” Kennington currently sits 17th in the NASCAR Nationwide Series point standings just 27 points out of the top 10.
