EDSON, AB – Team Northern Provincial Pipelines competes at two British Columbia tracks over the next two weekends.  Darrell Midgley gets behind the wheel of a brand new pavement Late Model at Black Creeks Saratoga Speedway for the Reg Midgley Canada 200 event on Friday/Saturday, September 4th/5th.  Josh Shuflada gets behind the wheel of his Super Stock at Valemount’s Rocky Mountain Speedway on Saturday/Sunday, September 12th/13th.

Twenty Late Model teams are registered for one of Canada’s longest running Stock Car events. First run at Western Speedway in 1972, the Canada 200 has always been a fast, action packed race. After the closure of the Victoria, British Columbia track in 2022, Saratoga Speedway inherited the Reg Midgley Canada 200 and carried on the fast paced tradition. Reg Midgley was the promoter of Western Speedway in the early 1970’s. The Canada 200 trophy was re-named in his honor after his passing in 2010. “He was the one that started this race in 1972,” exclaims Darrell Midgley, “it’s got a tremendous amount of meaning to me.” Midgley won back-to-back Canada 200’s in 1998 and 1999 and has podiumed numerous times. His best finish since the re-name, honoring his late father, was 4th at the 2022 race. “It’s a hard event to win,” exclaims Darrell Midgley, “winning this race now would be pretty special.” Midgley finished 15th at the 2025 Canada 200 event at Saratoga Speedway.

Josh Shuflada hasn’t had much time for racing in 2026. The Edson, Alberta driver has been focused on work and his company, Rollin Coal Enterprises. Shuflada will finally get behind the wheel of his #81 Super Stock for just the second time in 2026. He’ll be competing at the Season Championship weekend at Rocky Mountain Speedway on Saturday and Sunday, September 12th and 13th. Northern Provincial Pipelines is presenting sponsor of the championship weekend in Valemount, British Columbia. Shuflada, the defending season track champion, hopes to have a good points weekend, challenge the front runners and maybe steal a win.
