KENNEDY CLASSIC PAYOUT ANNOUNCED
BLACK CREEK, BC – Saratoga Speedway has announced the payout for the inaugural Kennedy Classic which will be held June 12th and 13th. The 150-lap Feature race, featuring Super Late Models, will pay $10,000USD to win. All racers taking the green flag in the Super Late Model Feature are guaranteed $1,000USD. To bolster the international flavor of this event, American race teams will also receive $1,500 in tow money. Canadian teams, not based on Vancouver island, will receive $1,000USD in tow money. The Northwest Super Late Model Series is also sanctioning this race marking the first-time the series has sanctioned a race event in Canada.

This event is named in honor of Dwight Kennedy, current race team owner and longtime supporter and sponsor of motorsports both at the grass roots and professional levels. The 2022 Western Canadian Motorsports Hall of Fame inductee is also president/owner of Northern Provincial Pipelines Ltd based in Edson, Alberta. “Dwight has been one of the biggest supporters of racing across North America over the past 30-years,” says Daryl Crocker, Saratoga Speedway promoter, “this event once again highlights his commitment to grassroots motorsports.” Along with the prize money and tow money awarded, the Kennedy Classic will also feature lap-leader bonus money totaling $6,000USD. The leader of laps 25, 50, 75, 100, 125 and lap 149 will receive $1,000USD. The first ever appearance of Super Late Models at Saratoga Speedway will also be broadcast live. A detailed race itinerary, including support classes, of the inaugural Kennedy Classic on Friday/Saturday, June 12th/13th will be released soon. The track will be open for practice to all Super Late Model teams on Thursday, June 11th.
Saratoga Speedway continues preparation for their 2026 race season. Pre-season tech and an open practice session is scheduled for April 11th starting at 2:00pm.
