A HUGE TOP TEN

ELMA, WA – Lane Zerbin drove the Northern Provincial Pipelines/C-Tech Marine #81 Modified to a 6th place finish Saturday night at Grays Harbor Raceway.  Zerbin started his night finishing last (6th) in his Heat race.  “We were fighting for the lead.  Between the mud and the sun I couldn’t see going down the front straight.  I rolled out of it and went to the back instead of driving the car into the wall.”  The Heat race finish put Zerbin at the back of the pack for the start of the Feature.  “It’s been one of those years starting 12th or further back.”

ZERBIN STARTED 18TH AND FINISHED 6TH SATURDAY NIGHT

19-cars took the green flag in the Saturday night Feature in Elma, Washington.  Zerbin started 18th.  The Victoria, British Columbia driver fought hard for every position in the 25-lap Feature.  The only Canadian in the field crossed the finish line in 6th.  “It was a fast track.  Took me about 2-laps per car (to gain a position).  If there was a late race caution I think I could have cracked the top-5.  Maybe even finished fourth.”  This was Zerbins 6th top-10 finish in only 8-starts at Grays Harbor Raceway in 2023.

Next race for the Team NPP driver is expected to be Friday and Saturday night at Skagit Speedway.  Zerbin has just three starts at the Burlington, Washington facility in 2023.  His best finish was 4th back on June 14th.  “We’ll see about this race (Skagit).  We’re still on the fence about going.  Elma is running the weekend after (September 30th) so we might do this one instead.”
