ROCHESTER, WA – Team NPP is at South Sound Speedway in Rochester, Washington for a special mid-week Super Late Model event.  Darrell Midgley will pilot the Northern Provincial Pipelines Ltd./Alien Race Cars #81 Dodge at the Wes Rhodes Firecracker 126 on Tuesday night.  In his previous appearances at the ‘Fastest 3/8th’s on the West Coast’, Midgley has consistently run in the top-ten and has led laps.  Last August Midgley registered a 6th place finish at the Miller 200 race.  “We just started going back there a few years ago,” says the Sidney, British Columbia driver, “this will be the first time we’ll be racing the new car here.”  Midgley debuted the brand new #81 Dodge in Las Vegas last October. “We raced in Wenatchee back in April (finished 9th) so its been a while since we’ve been on the track.”  In March, Midgley finished 8th at Arizona’s Tucson Speedway.  When the green flag drops Tuesday night, Midgley will be looking for his third consecutive top-10 finish south of the border.

“We are trying some different things. Hopefully we’ll get some results.”  Despite his recent run of top-10 finishes, Midgley says better finishing positions are needed.  “We don’t think we’ve performed the way we should with this new car.  We’ve actually hired a crew chief for this race.  He’s doing the set-up on the car.  We are pretty excited about this.  He’s had a lot of success on the NASCAR level and in the Super Late Model Class.”  Chuck Carruthers took delivery of the new Team NPP #81 Dodge last week at his shop in Prescott, Washington.  “This is a big test,” admits Midgley, “its a whole new set-up package for us.  We have a private on-track test session set for Monday (July 2).”  Two Super Late Model practices are schedule for South Sound Speedway Tuesday afternoon in preparation for the Wes Rhodes Firecracker 126 Tuesday night.
