WENATCHEE, WA – Team NPP and Darrell Midgley return to the track this weekend in Washington State.  The 4th annual Leonard Evans Memorial 150 runs Saturday, April 28th at the Wenatchee Super Oval.  Close to 30 teams are registered for the first major Super Late Model event of spring in the Pacific Northwest.  “We had a real good run going at this race last year,” exclaims the Sidney, British Columbia driver, “unfortunately we got caught up in somebody else’s mess and that put an end to our day.”  Nearing the halfway point of last year’s race, Midgley avoided a multi-car crash.  Unfortunately another competitor couldn’t avoid the slowing Midgley and slammed into the Northern Provincial Pipelines Ltd./Alien Race Cars #81 Dodge.  Damage was too severe to continue and Midgley was credited with a 19th place finish.  “We ran well (until the crash) so hopefully we will be good again this year.”

 

Midgley is aiming for his first ever top-10 finish at the Wenatchee, Washington facility.  The 3-time NPP Late Model Series Champion is coming off an 8th place finish at Tucson Speedway in Arizona back on March 2nd.  “We brought the car back to the race shop (Victoria, British Columbia) after Tucson and have been working hard on the car.  We’ve spent a lot of time on the chassis and getting to know it better.”  The brand new Team NPP Super Late Model made its official debut at Las Vegas Motor Speedway last October.  The new car replaced a near 10 year-old Super Late Model.  “We tested the car earlier this week (at Western Speedway in Victoria, BC). Really looking forward to getting on the track here (Wenatchee) and make some laps.”  Midgley and Team NPP will be on the ¼ mile oval Friday and Saturday for several on-track practice sessions.  Qualifying is Saturday afternoon with the Leonard Evans 150 Memorial race Saturday night.
