TOP SPOT FOR SHUFLADA
VALEMOUNT, BC – After sitting dormant for two decades, Rocky Mountain Speedway in Valemount, British Columbia celebrated its grand re-opening on the weekend. A familiar car number returned to victory lane. Driving the Northern Provincial Pipelines #81 Dodge, Josh Shuflada grabbed a big win in Saturday’s Feature and finished second in the Sunday Feature.
“Everything went really good,” says the Edson, Alberta driver, “car handled well.” The forecast did look a little suspect going into the weekend. “Weather wasn’t looking good at all.” Despite the dreary forecast there was no precipitation. “Officials actually had to wet the track down several times both days because it was too dusty.”
Team NPP founder Dwight Kennedy was a regular competitor in Valemount, BC in the 1990’s. Kennedy drove to victory lane dozens of times in his #81 Dodge. “I think I did him proud today.” Shuflada returns to Rocky Mountain Speedway for another two-day show on July 13th and 14th. This race weekend is sponsored by Shuflada’s company, Rollin Coal Enterprises.
