TEAM NPP DRIVERS UPDATE

#81 LANE ZERBIN
After getting crashed out in his first race of 2024 at Skagit Speedway back on May 11th, Zerbin returns to Washington State on Saturday and Sunday, May 25th and 26th.  Grays Harbor Raceway hosts the Modified Clash weekend.  “It’s been awhile since I got a win on dirt”, indicates Zerbin, “so I need to boost my confidence and break this (non-winning) streak.”  The Victoria, British Columbia driver has 4-wins and 25 top-10’s in 43-starts dating back to 2015.  Zerbin last drove to victory lane at Grays Harbor Raceway on September 3, 2018.  He came close last season finishing 2nd on September 4th.  “Hopefully luck is on our side this weekend.”

#81 JOSH SHUFLADA
The newest driver to the Team NPP lineup kicks off his 2024 season at a track that will be celebrating its grand re-opening on June 15th and 16th.  Rocky Mountain Speedway just outside Valemount, British Columbia has sat dormant since 2003.  Racers and local business owners announced late last year the track would re-open in 2024.  Shuflada tested at Rocky Mountain Speedway earlier this month.  Team NPP founder Dwight Kennedy won numerous Feature events at Valemount track in the #81 Dodge back in the 1990’s.

Saratoga Speedway in Black Creek, British Columbia hosts its first big Late Model Show on Saturday, May 25th.  Frost will be at the track but without his race car.  Construction on his brand new NPP/The Keg Restaurant #81 Dodge is almost complete.  Frost will be in the pits lending a hand to fellow Late Model competitor Daryl Crocker.  Frost’s race car is expected to to be ready for the Saratoga Speedway  Canada Day long weekend race event.
SIDENOTE:  Daryl Crocker is the son-in-law of Team NPP driver Darrell Midgley.

Lane Zerbin was noticeably absent from the competitor pits at Grays Harbor Raceway Saturday.  “The weather was looking crappy (for the weekend) and we decided not to go.”  Spectators and competitors endured several rain delays in Elma, Washington Saturday evening.  “They did get the show in last night,” admits Zerbin, “but Sundays race was a complete rainout.  I believe we made the right decision.”  Zerbin had planned on racing at Skagit Speedway on June 1st.  ‘I think we’re going to skip this race as of now.”  Zerbin however is confident he’ll be on the track Saturday, June 15 at Skagit Speedway and then at Grays Harbor Raceway the following night (Sunday, June 16th).
