TEAM NPP DOUBLE PLAY
ELMA, WA / VALEMOUNT, BC – For the second time this season Team NPP will be racing on both sides of the border the same weekend. On Friday and Saturday night, Lane Zerbin is competing at Gray’s Harbor Raceway in Elma, Washington. Josh Shuflada is at Rocky Mountain Speedway in Valemount, British Columbia on Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Both drivers are on a bit of a hot streak in their respective cars. Zerbin heads into the Modified Nationals weekend with four consecutive top-10 finishes including two top 5’s. Shuflada returns to the track where he registered a win and a second place finish last month in his Super Stock.
Lane Zerbin indicates his current performance streak is nice but he’s like to get back into the win column. The Victoria, British Columbia driver last went to victory lane on September 3, 2018. “Its been awhile. I thought I might have had a chance last weekend (at Grays Harbor) starting on the outside pole but I decided to drive backwards and finish fifth.” Close to 40 IMCA Modifieds will be in the pits for the Modfied Nationals weekend. This is the 6th time Zerbin has competed at this premier IMCA Modified event. His best finish was 5th back in 2017. Zerbin finished 6th at last years race.
Josh Shuflada hopes to add to the win column with his visit to Rocky Mountain Speedway this weekend. The Edson, Alberta driver registered a win and a second at the grand re-opening of the track last month. Shuflada’s company Rollin Coal Enterprises is title sponsor for the race weekend in Valemount, British Columbia. “The facility was looking for title sponsors for select races this season so I decided to get involved.” The RCE Invitational will feature five classes of race cars. Shuflada will once again compete n the Super Stock class with the Northern Provincial Pipelines/RCE #81 Dodge. Team NPP founder Dwight Kennedy will be in attendance at Rocky Mountain Speedway. “It adds a little bit of pressure to perform,” admits Shuflada, “we’re going to race hard and hope to pick up a win.”
