SO CLOSE BUT YET……
BLACK CREEK, BC – Darrell Midgley finished 15th Sunday in the 2025 Shockwave Reg Midgley Canada 200. The finishing position does not show how well the Sidney, British Columbia driver performed in the race named after his father. “We had a great car,” exclaims Midgley, “very disappointed with how it (race) ended.” Midgley started the 200 Lap race in 10th. By Lap 17 Midgley was already up to 6th. Midgley was running 5th by Lap 34.

The driver of the Northern Provincial Pipelines #81 Dodge then played the patience game for almost 70-laps. Just past the halfway point (Lap 103), Midgley moved up to second. Midgley tried to chase down race leader Charlie Ackerman for some 35-Laps. By Lap 140, Midgley changed from offense to defense as Kyle Wade was putting on tremendous pressure. Midgley would relinquish second to Wade on Lap 143.

While running third on Lap 161 there was contact with another driver. “It was on a re-start. We were racing for position. He said his radio came undone and he didn’t hear (from spotter) and didn’t know I was there. He just totaled me. It was preventable but that’s the way it goes sometimes.” The contact ended a potential podium finish for Midgley. A tire would shred nine laps later thanks to body damage. “Bent the trailing arm and then there was a tire rub. The right rear tire went down going into turn 3.” Midgley would pull into the pits with 30-laps remaining. “We still had a lot of fun. It was a good car.” Midgley spent a total of 93 Laps running in the Top 5 in the 2025 Shockwave Reg Midgley Canada 200.

Team NPP congratulates #98 Kyle Wade from Courtenay, British Columbia, who led a total of 77-laps to claim his first Canada 200 crown. This was also Wades first ever Feature win in a Late Model. Wade was the 2024 Late Model Rookie of the Year at Saratoga Speedway.
