SEEING STARS
ELMA, WA – Lane Zerbin competes against a NASCAR veteran this weekend in Washington State. Kenny Schrader will be competing in the open wheel Modified class at Grays Harbor Raceway on Saturday night. “It will be neat,” says Zerbin, “I saw him race out in Edmonton when he was there.” Zerbin was a crew member on Darrell Midgley’s Integra Tire/Northern Provincial Pipelines Late Model at the Race of Champions event at Castrol Raceway. Midgley finished second to Schrader at the 2014 event. “Seeing Darrell (Midgley) race side by side with him and Dwight (Kennedy) was fun. Now I get my shot to race against him.”
After a strong month of June, where Zerbin recorded 2nd and 4th place finishes, the month of July has been a struggle. In three starts, the Victoria, BC driver has an average Feature finish of 17th. “Hopefully we can get some momentum going. We’ve got the speed. We know the track. We’ve led some laps. Now we just need a little luck to get it done.”
Zerbin has 4 Feature wins at Grays Harbor Raceway in the Northern Provincial Pipelines Ltd./C-Force Marine #81 Modified. “I really enjoy racing there. For the most part it is my home track.” Competing against Kenny Schrader will be added bonus for Zerbin this weekend in Elma, Washington.
