RULE BOOK REVISIONS
EDSON, AB – When you’ve been competing under the same rulebook for more than a decade, implementing major rule changes is not an easy task. The Northern Provincial Pipelines Late Model Series has released its updated 2018 rulebook. “Yes there are some tweaks to the rulebook,” says NPP Series announcer Gord Craig, “tires, chassis and suspension rules have been modified. Major changes to engine rules however remain on the drawing board.” Craig says one-on-one consultations with teams will continue once the season starts. “This may be the first re-write (of the rulebook) in 10 years but that does not mean we are done with changes.” A closer inspection of the updated rulebook reveals an open invitation to current owners of ‘former’ NPP Series race cars and NPP ‘style’ race cars competing in other divisions. “We’d love to see them come over and have some fun in the NPP Series this year.” NPP Series officials continue working on putting the finishing touches on the 2018 race schedule. Test n tune dates are May 5th at Central Alberta Raceways in Rimbey and May 12th at Edmonton’s Castrol Raceway. Drayton Valley Speedway will not be hosting a test and tune in 2018. The 2018 season opener will be held in either Edmonton or Rimbey.
