READY TO GO RACING

VICTORIA, BC – Jason Frost is poised to be the first Team NPP driver to see on-track action in 2021.  “I guess I’ll have to remember how to drive first,” laughs the Victoria, BC racer, “we’re finally going to get back to it!”  It’s been nine months since Frost last sat behind the wheel of the Northern Provincial Pipelines Ltd./Keg Restaurants #81 Late Model.  Last September, Frost qualified #1 and grabbed a 6th place finish at the Canada 200 event at Western Speedway (now named Westshore Motorsports Park).  “The car was going in the right direction.  We had ourselves a real hot rod.”  Frost says he is ready to compete in the first Late Model race of 2021.  The entire 2020 schedule (except the Canada 200) was cancelled due to Covid-19.  Frost finished 9th overall in the Keg Series point standings back in 2019.  “It’s going to be fun to be competitive again.”  The official 2021 season opener on May 15th was cancelled due to Covid-19 restrictions.  With gathering restrictions being eased in British Columbia, Westshore Motorsports Park is expecting much larger crowds to be allowed in the grandstands on June 19th.  “That’s the hope right now,” adds Frost, “it’s been a crazy time (the last year).”  Westshore held its first race of the year on June 5th.  Only 50 fans were allowed to attend.  Team NPP drivers Darrell Midgley and Lane Zerbin are eagerly awaiting their opportunities to get behind the wheel sooner rather than later.  Preliminary schedules for the Team NPP Super Late Model and Modified are still being worked on.
