READY FOR TUCSON
VICTORIA, BC – Canada’s Darrell Midgley is heading south in search of warmer temperatures and a track called Tucson Speedway. Directions to the facility won’t be required as Midgley has competed in eleven races at the Arizona track since 2015. “The people there are very nice. We have access to track time. It’s just a really cool track to race on.” The driver of the Northern Provincial Pipelines Ltd./Alien Race Cars #81 Dodge was on his home track of Western Speedway in Victoria, British Columbia for several test sessions. “We’ve tested a few times the past few weeks. We were fighting and fighting (with the car) and couldn’t figure out what was wrong.” It turned out the problem was a simple bolt-on part. “We had a bad shock. It was brand new. We actually took all the shocks to Ted (Alien Race Cars) and he put the shocks on the dyno and low and behold one of our brand new shocks was dead.” Subsequent practices in Victoria were positive.
“We are happy with the car now and will put it in the trailer on the weekend.” The Team NPP hauler heads for Arizona on Tuesday (October 23). “We have a practice session at Tucson Speedway on Friday (October 26th).” Midgley and team will race on Saturday night October 27th. “This is their track championship night. So it should be a good test for us.” The Team NPP hauler will be stored in Tucson this winter.
