PIPELINE TO VICTORY LANE
EDSON, AB. – The Northern Provincial Pipelines Ltd. flag flew in victory lane in two countries in less than 24 hours over the weekend. On Friday night, Travis Rilat (Forney, Texas) drove the Scott Safety/NPP/Carlan Services #39 Sprint Car to a Feature event win at the Jim Raper Memorial Dirt Cup at Skagit Speedway in Alger, Washington.
Saturday night, DJ Kennington (St. Thomas, Ontario) came from the back of the pack in his Castrol Edge/Mahindra Tractors/NPP #17 Dodge to win the Canadian Tire NASCAR Series Clarington 200 on the 1/2 mile Oval Track at Bowmanville, Ontario.
Northern Provincial Pipelines Ltd. and the NPP Late Model Series congratulates both Rilat and Kennington on their outstanding performance.
Rilat took the lead from Toni Lutar on lap 10 of the 30 lap Sprint Car Feature and drove the Richard Saumure owned race car, based out of Whitecourt, Alberta, to the checkered flag. Kennington, the 2010 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Champion, finished second and third at the first two races of the year and took over the 2012 NCTS point lead with Saturday nights victory.
The Northern Provincial Pipelines Late Model Series resumes its 2012 season this Saturday, June 23rd at Central Alberta Raceways in Rimbey. This event is rescheduled from the rainout two weekends ago.
