PARADE LAP
EDMONTON, AB. – For the second year in a row the Northern Provincial Pipelines Late Model Series will be participating in the annual Capital X Parade in downtown Edmonton. “I was blown away at the crowd last year,” says NPP Series announcer Gord Craig, “its incredible exposure for the Series that’s for sure.” The Edson Chrysler/Lucas Oil Dodge Charger Pace Car will be joined by the Trappers Auto Parts #10 Chevrolet of Travis Day. “Travis and crew are driving down from Whitecourt to be in the parade. This will be an experience that this race team will remember for a long time.”
Various media outlets will be positioned along the four kilometer long parade route broadcasting to the capacity crowd which is expected to exceed 300,000. The parade is also being televised locally on Shaw TV. “The NPP Late Model Series location in the parade lineup is a little past the halfway point (entry #71), adds Craig, “we will be just in front of the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede Float.” Currently there are 117 individual entries registered for this year’s parade which is expected to take two hours to complete. The NPP Late Model Series is not the only racing themed entry. The Honda Indy of Edmonton, which runs this weekend (July 23rd – 25th), is well represented at this year’s parade (entry #26).
