EDMONTON, AB – The 2008 Season opening race of the Northern Provincial Pipelines Late Model Series has been cancelled at Castrol Raceway. Although the weather is expected to be sunny and warm for Saturday, May 3rd, track officials still have been unable to prepare the racing surface after the winter layoff. Last weeks snow storm and Wednesday’s major rainstorm is getting all of the blame for the cancellation. The 2008 season opening event for race teams of the NPP Late Model Series will now take place at Rocky Mountain Raceway Park in Okotoks, Alberta on Saturday and Sunday May 17th and 18th.
