NPP GOES COLD TURKEY
DEVON, AB – The race season may have ended in September but that didn’t stop the Northern Provincial Pipelines Late Model Series from participating in a non-motorsport event on Thanksgiving Holiday Monday. It was the third annual Devon Turkey Chase Fun Run/Walk in Devon, Alberta. NPP Series announcer Gord Craig was official MC of the three-hour event. “Like race car drivers, runners are incredibly passionate about what they do. Many told me that they are training to run several full marathons next year.”

More than 150 runners braved freezing temperatures to compete in either the half marathon, 10km run or 5km run/walk through the scenic river valley of the North Saskatchewan River. “We have a record number of participants today,” says event organizer Janet Guthrie, “the money we are raising is going towards the purchase of an Emergency Department Targeted Ultrasound unit.” The EDTU has a price tag of $70,000.
The NPP Late Model Series congratulates all entrants. The Top 5 runners in each category are listed.
