MINI RIMBEY RUMBLES
RIMBEY, AB – Central Alberta Raceways hosts their 2013 Oval season opener this Sunday, May 26th. Along with race action from the IMCA Modified and Sportsman Sprint Car divisions, a Northern Provincial Pipelines Late Model Series mini test ‘n’ tune session will also be taking place. “It’s been a brutally long off-season,” declares NPP Series announcer Gord Craig, “we haven’t had cars on the track since September. Definitely looking forward to hearing the sounds of race engines again.”
The NPP Series test ‘n’ tune was originally scheduled for Saturday (May 25th) at the Rimbey, Alberta facility but with only a handful of teams expected to participate, track officials decided to incorporate the NPP Series test ‘n’ tune into their season opener. “The NPP Series has had a unique relationship with this track for almost a decade now,” admits Craig, “we christened the oval racing surface at its first ever event back in 2005. We were part of the official grand opening ceremonies as well.”
Due to its focus on race fans and racers, Central Alberta Raceway’s has seen tremendous growth the past several seasons. “I’m glad other racing divisions have taken notice of this track. Rimbey definitely deserves to be supported.”
