LET THE RECORDS SHOW
EDMONTON, AB – Western Canada’s toughest racing Series on the dirt has updated its extensive library of race results and statistics. “Two-years ago we launched our on-line stats and results section,” exclaims Northern Provincial Pipelines Late Model Series announcer Gord Craig, “we’ve now expanded that section to include track-by-track statistics. We’ve also released a NPP Series records page and the drivers that hold these various records.” Since the first official season back in 2001, a total of 108 drivers have strapped themselves into a NPP Late Model and challenged for the checkered flag. Craig says acknowledging all drivers is important. “Whether a driver has competed in one or a one-hundred events, they are part of NPP Series history.”
The NPP Series has competed at 12 different race venues since 2001. “We have fond memories from all the tracks we’ve run at over the years. We are also proud to keep alive [through our records] the names of several race tracks that unfortunately have ceased operating.” With current NPP Series results and statistics (2001 – 2014) up to date, officials continue to search for pre-NPP Series results. “This is going to be a little bit more tough,” admits Craig, “the NPP Series has roots which date back to 1994.
Finding all the pre-NPP Series race results remains a work in progress.” The 15th consecutive season of race action from the Northern Provincial Pipelines Late Model Series is still four months away. The 2015 season opener is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, May 23rd at Castrol Raceway in Edmonton, Alberta.
