INAUGURAL SLM RACE AT SARATOGA
EDSON, AB – Team Northern Provincial Pipelines is pleased to announce the debut of a brand new Super Late Model race at Saratoga Speedway in 2026. The Kennedy Classic will run June 12th and 13th at the Black Creek, British Columbia facility. The 150-lap race honors Dwight Kennedy, current race team owner and longtime supporter of grassroots motorsports. The 2022 Western Canadian Motorsports Hall of Fame inductee is president/owner of Northern Provincial Pipelines Ltd based in Edson, Alberta. Daryl Crocker, Saratoga Speedway promoter, is excited about the new race coming to his track. “Dwight has been one of the biggest supporters of racing across North America over the past 30-years and this event once again highlights his commitment to grassroots motorsports.” Kennedy officially hung up the helmet as a competitor in 2015 but continues to proudly wear the Team NPP owner’s hat. “I’m very happy that I’m still able to give back to the motorsports community. Have made a lot of friends along the way.”

The Northwest Super Late Model Series will be the sanctioning body for this inaugural event. It’s also the first time the series has sanctioned an event outside of the United States. The prize purse for the Kennedy Classic will be a minimum of $50,000USD. This inaugural Super Late Model event at Saratoga Speedway will also be televised. More details about the race including pre-registration, prize breakdown and support classes will be released in the new year.
