FROST FOCUSED ON PODIUM
VICTORIA, BC – The Keg Late Model Drivers Challenge Series crowns its 2019 season champion this Saturday night at Western Speedway. Jason Frost current sits 5th in the points chase in his Northern Provincial Pipelines Ltd./Saanich Braves Hockey Club #81 Dodge. The Victoria, British Columbia driver sits just 8 points back of fourth and just 23 points back of third. Despite a mathematical chance at finishing at the top, Frost is being realistic heading into the race weekend. “I’m probably too far away to catch Brandon (Carlson) and Rory (Smith) but I might catch third (Wes Mader). Right now we are neck and neck with Mike (Haslam) for fourth.”
Two times this season Frost has been the fastest qualifier in Team NPP #81 Late Model. “We are happy with the speed in the car. We just need to find a way to carry our qualifying speed into the Features.” His two best finishes came at the 2019 season opener back in May and the most recent KLM Series event on July 13th. Frost finished 5th in both races. There have been six different Feature winners in 2019. Two 50- Lap Features will be run Saturday evening to wrap up the KLM season. Frost hopes to add his name to the winners list this weekend. Last Sunday night (August 4th), Frost had the car to beat at an invitational race held at Penticton Speedway. “We led every lap except for the final two. Transmission let go coming to the white flag.” Despite the setback, Frost is looking forward to championship night at Western Speedway. “We have a new transmission going in. We’ll be ready to go for Saturday night.”
