EDMONTON RACE DATES
EDMONTON, AB – The holidays are over and the calendar has been flipped to 2015 which only means the upcoming race season is getting closer. “With a foot of snow on the ground it’s pretty difficult to talk racing right now,” admits Northern Provincial Pipelines Late Model Series announcer Gord Craig, “but the reality is, in about a hundred days, many NPP Series teams will be test ‘n’ tuning their race cars in Edmonton.” NPP Late Model Series officials hope to have a tentative 2015 race schedule available later this month. “It’s (the schedule) like putting a puzzle together. The good news is that we’ve got our Edmonton dates on paper. Now the shuffling begins with available race dates at other tracks we hope to compete at this year.”
The NPP Late Model Series celebrates its 15th consecutive race season in 2015. Castrol Raceway celebrates its 25th consecutive season of Oval racing in 2015. “I’m sure track officials in Edmonton have huge plans for this significant milestone.” Right now the NPP Late Model Series has seven tentative dates booked at Castrol Raceway for the 2015 race season. “We’ve tentatively booked our season opener for Edmonton on Saturday, May 23rd.” Sangudo Speedway (Sangudo, Alberta), Central Alberta Raceways (Rimbey, Alberta), Dinosaur Downs Speedway (Drumheller, Alberta) and Merritt Speedway (Merritt, British Columbia) have all expressed interest in hosting a NPP Late Model Series points event in 2015.
