DAY ON DISPLAY
WHITECOURT, AB. – There was a distinct motor sport flavor at the 31st annual Whitecourt Trade Fair on the weekend. Inside the busy Scott Safety Centre, Northern Provincial Pipelines Late Model Series competitor Travis Day was promoting his business and his race car team to thousands of Fair attenders. “It’s been a while since I participated in our local trade fair,” admits Day, “but we’ve got some new sponsors on board [our race car] this season and wanted to give them some pre-season exposure.” There were over 100 booths for people to see and explore at the three day trade fair. Day is the owner of Trappers Auto Parts and Towing in Whitecourt, Alberta.
“The race car is really a good draw and perfect for promoting our business.” The #10 Chevrolet is sporting new colors for the 2013 season. “We were going to do a two-toned paint scheme this year but in the end decided to go all red.” The last few seasons Day’s race car has been all white. “Whitecourt Collision is one of our sponsors this year and we let them pick the color. It looks pretty good, they did an incredible job.” Day says he is ready to go for the 2013 season. “We’ve been so busy [at work] the race season has actually kinda snuck up on us. Getting back to the track is going to be a nice break.” Day plans on making some laps in his race car at the upcoming test ‘n’ tune at Central Alberta Raceways in Rimbey on May 25th in preparation for the 2013 season opening weekend of the NPP Late Model Series on June 8th and 9th.
