CUSTOMERS COME FIRST

VICTORIA, BC – Alien Race Cars is an independent race car and fabrication shop located in Victoria, British Columbia.  Owner Ted Zerbin has been building race cars since the mid 1980’s.  It has been a busy few months at the shop.  “There just one of me here,” exclaims Zerbin, “I have one car in a repair stage and also working on a brand new car for (BC driver) Graham Cook.”  Along with these cars, Zerbin is also working on another brand new car when he has time. It will be a new Team NPP #81 Modified for his son Lane.  Zerbin admits that there are priorities right now.  “Customer jobs need to be done first.”

BRAND NEW TEAM NPP MODIFIED FOR 2020

A new Team NPP Modified was already in the works for the 2020 season but was not expected to be put into service until April.  A crash at Yakima Speedway on September 28th wrote off the old #81 Modified.  The original plan was for Ted and his 23-year old son Lane to kick off 2020 at two tracks (9 race dates) in Arizona this month using the old car.

2019 SEASON CAME TO A CRASHING END IN YAKIMA

“The new car is not quite done yet so unfortunately we couldn’t go,” says Lane Zerbin who often helps out in the race shop when he’s not working his regular job at a plumbing company. “There is another tour in Arizona in February that we are looking at.  It’s 50/50 right now.”  USA Raceway and Arizona Speedway are hosting the 2020 Arizona Modified Tour from February 7th – 15th.  This year will be Lane Zerbins 6th consecutive season behind the wheel of his Modified.  In his 49 Modified starts, the former go-cart racer (2008 – 2015) has 5 wins and 12 top-5 finishes.
